I Asked For A Performance And Got It - Bothroyd

City boss on win over Burnley Coventry City manager Aidy Boothroyd said that he asked his players for a performance against Burnley and got one. Speaking to Sky Blue Player after the Sky Blues 1-0 home victory over The Clarets, Boothroyd said: "We played very well in parts of the last three games, in some cases better than today and we had a situation where I asked the players for a performance and we got a result."That's what the Championship is about and we got a very good result against a very good team."We were a bit nervous after the week we've just had and we knew it would be difficult today with it being against a former Premiership team but once we got the goal I thought we looked solid and the boys gave their all."I will keep using the phrase 'work in progress though. It's not about being top now, it's about being top later. When you get a new manager in and a new bunch of players it takes time to build a team and I feel we will get better and better as the season goes on."The Champioship itself is as tight as it's ever been but it's making sure you hang in there. We have another tough game against Scunthorpe on Saturday and we have to go there and try and get a result and teams that can do that consistently and put a run together are the ones who will be in the mix at the end of the season."
