Jimmy Hill's wife on keeping City in Coventry

Byrony Hill, the wife of Jimmy Hill has said that Jimmy would be horrified to learn of the plans by Tim Fisher and SISU to take Coventry City Football Club out of Coventry.

Speaking to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner, Mrs Hill said: “Jimmy is obviously not well at this moment in time but he would be horrified by this terrible situation.

“We still have many contacts and connections in the city and Jimmy and I urge everybody to make sure Coventry City Football Club keep playing at the Ricoh Arena.

“Whilst Jimmy appreciates and knows only too well that football is a business, it is a game that is crucial to the local community and hugely emotional.

“Jimmy would be hugely upset to know that Coventry City’s supporters are being put through this emotional turmoil and we urge the owners to stay at the Ricoh and not to move on to a temporary or full-time basis away from the city that holds so many wonderful memories for us and, especially Jimmy.”
