Former Coventry City midfielder Colin Healy has left Ipswich Town.

The Irishman, who played for City in 2002/2003 making seventeen appearances and scoring twice, is reported to have stormed down the tunnel after being replaced during Ipswich's defeat to Doncaster Rovers and later confronted manager Paul Jewall.

The Ipswich boss has now terminated his contract with immediate effect and said in a statement: “Colin is a terrific pro but he’s not had the first-team football he was looking for this season.

"Agreeing to bring his contract to an end early gives him the opportunity to find himself a new club for the rest of the season and we wish him the best of luck.”
