Hal's chance to say thanks and goodbye to City fans Coventry City's long serving defender Marcus Hall, who will line up for Northampton Town tonight against his old club, has spoken about the last game of the season when he spent the entire game on the bench and didn't get the chance to say farewell to the City fans. Hall knew his time at Coventry was over as the then manager Chris Coleman had told him he would not be getting a new contract. The last game of the season was the home game against Watford, who had struggled all season away from home, but thumped a poor Coventry City 0-4 and Coleman, who had said he would put Hall on at sometime, decided that it would be inappropriate for Hall to play in such a debacle. The fans, already unhappy at Coleman's season long negative tactics and furious at the day's 4-0 scoreline were further incensed when Coleman denied Hall the chance to have a last few minutes in front of the fans he had entertained for years. Hall said, “It was a bit of a let down to be honest. So it will be really nice to see the fans and say goodbye properly. "I came out at the end of the Watford game but most people had gone so it was a bit of an anti climax. “I have always had a good rapport with the Coventry supporters and I hope they will be nice to me because I am really looking forward to seeing them.” Speaking about his future and the probability he will sign for The Cobblers, Hall said, “I am pleased with the set up there and they are a nice bunch of lads. The manager is really good and it is not too far away for me to travel.” If he does sign for Northampton he will line up beside two other former Coventry players, Liam Davis and Kevin Thornton and the trio wil be out to prove to their former employers that they still have something to offer on the field of play. Hall concluded, “Liam and Kev are there and it always makes it easier when you know a couple of people.”
