Hall Gutted At Axe

Marcus on being axed Marcus Hall has admitted that he is 'gutted' by Coventry City's decison not to offer him another contract.Speaking to the CT, the defender who has been on an annual contract for a number of seasons said: "All good things come to an end and I knew this day would come some time."Obviously, I'm gutted and really felt that I could do a job for another season. There have been mitigating circumstances with the way things have gone for me this year, which has been the worse season of my career and I was hoping that would be taken into consideration."But the manager has been brilliant with me and really helped me a lot when I lost my dad, giving me all the time off I needed. That knocked me for six and then I had a couple of niggling injuries because I had lost a bit of weight at that time but I am fit again now and confident I can still do a job at this level."I understand the manager has got Chris Hussey coming through but this is my club and it is still hard to take. But I have got nothing against the manager who I am sure will help me out if another manager rings up asking about me. "I don't know what the situation is regarding the last six games and I am hoping I will still be involved in the squad. It would be nice to play a part on the last day, just to finish off on a high in front of the home fans. But whatever happens, I will be there to say goodbye to them after the match."Being a home town boy meant there was always a bit of pressure on me because I always came back to the city and saw fans out and about as I still do now."Whenever we lose, I always get asked questions about what went wrong but on the other hand it is always nice when we have won. I won't miss the times when we lost and you feel you can't show your face for a few days but I will miss the club and the fans who have always been good to me."I would have loved to have had another year but as I said before I knew it would come to an end one day."
