Iceland international Aron Gunnarsson has been voted Coventry City's player of the season by the club's supporters. The midfielder turned in a number of impressive performances, scoring twice, in his first term with the Sky Blues and also picked up the community award. The 20-year-old told BBC Coventry & Warwickshire: "I came here from Holland [AZ Alkmaar] and my confidence was low. "I'm happy about my season and I didn't think I'd get the player of the season," he added. Full-back Danny Fox took the players' player award with defender Ben Turner picking up the young player gong. Clinton Morrison's 12 goals earned him the moniker of top scorer and David Bell's wonder strike against Doncaster was voted the best. Helen Dermody was named as the Coventry City Ladies player of the season. Speaking about his award, Fox said: "To be appreciated and valued by your fellow professionals is always nice. "We've got a strong dressing room and there's a lot of big characters in there. For them to value me as their player of the season is very rewarding."
