The 20-year-old midfielder looked a shadow of the player he was last season over the opening weeks of the current campaign, resulting in manager Chris Coleman taking him out of his starting XI but backing him to come good once he had sorted out his issues and regained his form. Gunnarsson has had to be patient in winning back his first-team place but having started the last two games for the Sky Blues and demonstrating the qualities that have made him a fans' favourite, he is adamant he is on the right track once again. He told the Coventry Telegraph: "I am feeling a lot better in my head now, so mentally I am back, and physically I am getting there. I am not thinking about anything else and I just need to get on with my football because that's all that matters to me. I don't care about anything else, just about playing football. "I am starting to enjoy playing again and I am a different person in training now and in the games I am well up for it, so you could say that I am back to my normal old Gunnarsson." He added: "I love the fans here. They have stuck by me all the way through the last few weeks and I don't know how to thank them."
