Aidy has it under control say Iceman Coventry City's Icelandic midfielder Aron Gunnarsson has admitted he and his team mates are bemused by the slump suffered by the team over the festive period. However, he insist that the manager Aidy Boothroyd has the situation well under control and that normal service will be resumed as soon as possible. Gunnarsson served a three game ban during Christmas week, but returned to the side that suffered a rare defeat at the hands of Barnsley on Monday ans dropped further down the Championship league table from sixth to eleventh. “I don’t know why the results have suddenly gone against us but I know Aidy has got it under control,” said Gunnarsson. “We all know we just need to pick up some points and if we can get on another run and we will soon be back in the mix." // '); // ]]> “We think we deserve to be up there because we have been working hard but the facts are we haven’t got the points to be up there at the moment. It has been a bad Christmas for us and getting onto the bus at Barnsley with no points again was not good enough." “We need to start getting some wins now because we have dropped away a little bit, but this is such a weird league and you never know who is going to beat who. We have always had a good run against Barnsley who we beat at home earlier in the season but we just didn’t start well.”"We got back in the game and we thought we were going to beat them but in the second half we had chances and they scored again. Gary McSheffrey had a chance and I had a sitter but it didn’t happen for us.” “We should have won the game and we need to get over it and concentrate on Saturday when we hope for a good result against Palace in the FA Cup.” Gunnarsson was  happy to be back playing after his ban and although it was for three games, he was sidelined for just a week  because the games came thick and fast in the holiday period.  “I am very pleased to be back because I had been watching the games from the stands and they dragged on for ages, so it is good to be back to try to help the team,” he admitted. Gunnarsson received a straight red card, the first one of his career, for a late tackle on Norwich's Henri Lansbury.  “I saw my tackle on the TV the same evening after the game and I thought it looked worse on the replay so I could understand why the gaffer didn’t appeal, but in the moment it happened I never thought it would be a red card. I didn’t mean any harm but the ref gets a split second to decide so you can’t really blame them." “I think Marlon King’s was quite similar to mine and he is now out for three games which is a blow because he is an important player for us and great asset to the team.”
