Gunnarson throws warning to Scots

The two nations head into Wednesday's clash level on points in second place in Group Nine and knowing the outcome could prove crucial to their hopes of qualifying for the World Cup. Set-pieces and aerial threats proved to be a problem for the Scots in Holland on Saturday and that is a weakness Gunnarsson is hoping to exploit. He is renowned for his long throw thanks to a career playing handball as a youth and, perhaps most notably, provided the delivery for Scott Dann's goal in Coventry's Carling Cup defeat to Newcastle. Looking ahead to the meeting with Scotland, Gunnarsson insisted: "I'm going to use it definitely and we will see what happens after that. I'll try to throw it as far as I can." According to Gunnarsson, Iceland's other not-so-secret weapon is Barcelona star Eidur Gudjohnsen, who netted in the 2-1 defeat to the Scots in September. "Eidur is a top player and plays for a top team," he said. "You have to be good to play for a team like Barcelona, that's how it works." However, he was keen to play down Iceland's chances, claiming: "It's definitely going to be a hard game. "Scotland have much better quality in their squad than we do. They have quality strikers. Darren Fletcher is also a quality player. "But we just have to be prepared and concentrate on our own game. "Scotland are favourites for second place but we will see. We just have to concentrate on ourselves and see what happens." The match is being billed as a must-win game for both sides but Gunnarsson would be satisfied with a share of the spoils. "I would take a draw but we always have to think positive so we have to think we can do it," he said. "The pressure is all on Scotland, definitely. They are the bigger team, with the better players so the pressure is on them. We are the small team in this group." Scotland 1/2, Draw 13/5, Iceland 11/2
