Gunn: No problem with City duo
Midfielder Clingan's proposed move to Coventry appears to have stalled, although Leicester are reportedly waiting in the wings, while Russell has been also been the subject of interest from unnamed Championship clubs.
Gunn insists that if the players are still at Carrow Road at the start of the season, he would have no hesitation in using them.
"I know both players' characters," Gunn told the Eastern Daily Press.
"I've only known Sammy for a season, but he is a true professional - 100% professional.
"Darel Russell as well, I've known Darel since he was a young lad at the football club and the one thing he will give you is commitment, as we saw last season when he had to play in a number of different positions."
