Tranmere ask big defender to continue his loan Coventry City defender Jermaine Grandison, who had to return from his loan spell at Tranmere Rovers to receive treatment for a hamstring injury, has said he can't wait to return to Prenton Park when he has recovered. Grandison has been at Tranmere for a month and during that time he has earned himself rave reviews from Rover's boss Les Parry. Parry has asked the player and Coventry City if he can return for another loan spell when he is fit again. The 20 year old, 6'3" central defender has admitted he would relish a return. He said, “I can’t wait to be playing games again because it is proper men’s football and it has helped me grow as a player and given me the experience I need.” “It was going really well at Tranmere to be fair. I got five starts up there and have played in some pretty tough games but I feel I handled them quite well. We won two, lost two and drew two while I was there and the manager has asked me to come back once I have got my injury sorted out." “My toughest game was probably against Peterborough and Aaron McLean, who is a really good player. We won 1-0 and I managed to help keep him quiet that day so that was really good for my confidence.” Grandison played a few times under Chris Coleman at Coventry, but since the arrival of Aidy Boothroyd, he has slipped behind fellow academy graduate Nathan Cameron in the pecking order. The loan spell at Tranmere was just what he needed to boost his confidence and to keep him match fit in competitive football. He is confident he will quickly recover and return to Prenton Park and help them in their push away from the bottom four in League One.   “It is only a grade one tear, the worst being a grade three, so hopefully I will be back up there soon,” he explained. “I did it just before half time against Bristol Rovers. The ball went over the top and I ran after it and it just went, but fortunately it wasn’t too bad and I should be back in a couple of weeks.” Grandison's partner in the Tranmere defence has been the veteran Jamaican Ian Goodison. “I am learning all the time and I have gained a lot of awareness of what’s around me,” he said. "I have been playing alongside an experienced centre-back and he’s helped me with my communication and stuff during games, but as a back four we talk very well together and it has really helped my game.”
