City Supporters In Charity Game

.Glascote Swifts won the Cure Leukaemia Trophy with a 7-2 victory over Englandfans FC.

 

Coventry City supporter Lloyd Powell organised the game at the FA's St Georges Park complex and his local Sunday side were able to field Warwickshire County Cricket Club coach Dougie Brown.

 

The game, which was preceded by the national anthem saw a lively start from the Englandfansfc team with Wes Powell making two excellent saves.

 

Glascote, who included former City youngster Greg Woolaston, took the lead in the eleventh minute when Mark Swann swept in.

 

Seven minutes later, Swann added a second scoring from six yards.

 

England pulled one back in the 31st minute but Dave Haywood curled home a free kick to give Glascote a 3-1 lead at the break.

 

Glascote's man of the match Joe Obi danced round the England defence to score a fourth in the 46th minute and this was followed by a fifth from Chris Bryant in the 65th minute.

 

A stunning volley from the edge of the area reduced the arrears in the 67th minute but two good finishes from Mark Swann in the 82nd and 86th minute gave Galscote the trophy with a 7-2 win.
