Coventry City Manager Andy Thorn hopes that Cody McDonald’s first ever City Reserve game in the 2-2 draw against Northampton Town will help increase his match fitness.

Thorn said to Sky Blue Player: "Cody hopefully got his final bits and pieces of fitness today. It has been difficult for him as we have had to try and do a pre-season with him whilst the season is going on.

"This game time will be good for him and hopefully now he can start to play in the first team. He obviously hasn't played one game since the end of last season when he came to us, hence the hours he has played for us. But he got a game today and that should set him up nicely."
