Sherwood, Henderson and Simpson Former Coventry and Blackburn midfielder Tim Sherwood has been appointed to a new job. He will be in charge of managing "player development" at Spurs. His job  will include loan placements, technical coaching and physical improvements. Sherwood told the Spurs website,  "We will be geared towards ensuring players at all levels are achieving their full potential in order to optimise their position at the club, always with a view of benefiting first team player selection," Sherwood made 11 appearances  for Coventry City in the 2004-05 season. Peter Reid signed Sherwood  in the Summer of 2004. He announced his intention to win his third promotion to the Premiership with Coventry. At the end of the season the club announced that Tim could leave on a free transfer. He parted company with the Sky Blues by mutual consent on 1 July 2005. Former loan signing from Sunderland Jordan Henderson is poised to sign a long term contract with the Black Cats. The young midfielder was a  huge hit with the Coventry fans during his brief spell at The Ricoh last season and t was hoped he may have been tempted to return, but Sunderland manager Steve Bruce rated the player highly enough to give him some first team football in the premiership where he has impressed. Sunderland manager Steve Bruce said, 'Jordan grabbed me in the first week and David (Meyler) has done the same since. They are genuine, big and strong and want to learn." Former Coventry City striker Robbie Simpson, now at Huddersfield is to see a specialist in an attempt to finally pinpoint and remedy the persistent thigh problem. Huddersfield Town boss  Lee Clark is hopeful Simpson will will return before the end of the season. The annoying  thigh problem is the latest injury to sideline the striker who has had a frustrating season, who has only had five starts and 11 appearances from the bench because of a variety of injuries. Clarke said, “Robbie was close to a return, but when he started to go at 100%, he was still feeling the injury. We’ve sent him to the specialist to try and push him that extra stage and hopefully the news will be positive. “We want as many players available as possible, and as I keep saying, we haven’t yet seen the real Robbie Simpson.” Simpson joined Coventry from Cambridge in 2007 and made 61 appearances, scoring four goals, his first coming in his first competitive game in the League Cup game against Notts County prompting Iain Dowie's assistant Tim Flowers to claim g his acquisition from Cambridge as "a bargain" and tipping him to be a success at the club. Simpson left Coventry for Huddersfield in the summer of 2009.
