Former Coventry City Ladies defender Laura Bassett played for England in the 1-1 friendly draw against Japan at St Georges Park.
Bassett, now with Birmingham City Ladies in the WSL, played for most of the game before being replaced by Jade Moore after Aluko had give Hope Powell's side the lead.
Nahomi Kawaumi levelled for Japan in the 76th minute.
