FL Clubs Say No To Plastic Pitches

Artificial Pitches Unlikely

The 72 Football League clubs have rejected any re-introduction of plastic pitches.

The likes of Luton Town, QPR and Preston North End had plastic pitches in the 1980's and 1990's and whilst technology has moved on immensely with 4G pitches etc, the clubs at the FL summer conference in Portugal were not impressed with a series of presentations on Thursday.

According to the BBC, not one Championship club was in favour of a move away from grass whilst only two League One clubs were thought the idea had some merit.
