Time to fight back against unjust laws Fans can fight back against unjust lawsFollowing the coalition government's pledge to scrap unnecessary and "nannying" laws which restrict our rights the Your Freedom website was launched. The site gives the public the opportunity to tell government which laws and regulations they think should be scrapped - and as football fans we certainly have a couple we would like to see repealed:The ban on drinking in sight of the pitch at the match.The ban on drinking in a coach on the way to or from a game.These are laws which only apply to football fans, why should we be criminalised in such a manner?Take your beer into the stand at the Ricoh Arena and you're likely to find yourself frogmarched to the nearest cell, cautioned, being slapped with a football banning order (unless you're Mike Ashley). Visit a pop concert or rugby union match at the very same stadium though and you'll have no such problems. Why, is it that you can drink at the Sky Dome or Butts Park Arena but not at the Ricoh Arena? Come October though tens of thousands will be drinking at Wembley Stadium while watching the football, American football that is, when the San Francisco Giants play the Denver Broncos. Football is our national sport and Wembley is its domestic home yet we are actively discriminated against when compared to followers of other sports. How is that right?Similarly why is it OK for you to have a can on a coach to or from any form of sport or entertainment OTHER than football?
