Referee announced

The currently appointed referee for Coventry City's away Championship game at Barnsley is Geoff Eltringham from Sunderland.

Mr Eltringham got into refereeing thanks to a work colleague. He had packed up playing after leaving secondary school but wanted to remain in football and thought refereeing was the best way to do that.

This is his fourth season on the list. So far this season, he has had eight matches, one of which was a Championship game and shown twenty yellow cards and two red.

His only previous Coventry City match was the 2-1 defeat at Preston North End last season.

His assistants are Richard Bartlett from Cheshire and Chris Kavanagh from Lancashire . Fourth official is Steve Ross from Lincolnshire.
