Eastwood netted 65 goals in 135 games for the Shrimpers between 2004 and 2007 and his achievements were recognised by receiving 62% of the nominations.[LNB]The 26-year-old told the Southend Echo: "I'm delighted to have won the award. I really enjoyed my time at the club and it's a big thing that the fans have voted me player of the decade.[LNB]"I would like to thank them for picking me and I'm very proud to have won it.[LNB]"Getting promoted that day at Swansea was my favourite Southend moment but we had a great team and it's no surprise how well we did. We won two promotions and were unfortunate not to stay up in the Championship because there were only a few points in it in the end.[LNB]Eastwood added: "It isn't nice to see Southend struggling and I hope they stay up. I look out for the results every week and I know there are a few issues there but I do want to go back there one day. Hopefully the club will be more stable by then."[LNB][LNB]
