Eastwood is Eastwood and Westwood is Westwood, but the twain may meet tonight

Ireland v Wales could see City team mates face each other With the return, in a fashion, of the Home Internationals, Wales take the Republic of Ireland tonight in Dublin and if picked, Coventry City striker Freddy Eastwood could find himself playing against his team mate Kieren Westwood. Eastwood has been left out of the Wales side for nearly a year, but new manager Gary Speed recalled Eastwood after notching five goals for his club in a season interrupted by injury. The 27 year old Welsh striker is relishing the chance to win more international caps and to put a goal or two past his fellow Sky Blue Westwood. There is no guarantee that either or both players will play tonight, but both are hopeful of getting some pitch time. “I hope Westy is playing so I can put one in the net past him,” said Eastwood. Keiren is not sure if he’s playing yet but hopefully we will both play a part and it will be good if he does and great to play against him." "We have had a little bit of banter about the game and we’ll have our eyes on each other if we do play. I have got a decent record for my country and it would be nice to carry that on and get a goal against Ireland and then come back to Coventry and get going again.” Eastwood left the Coventry squad immediately after the defeat at Leeds at the weekend and travelled to Cardiff to join up with the rest of the Wales squad to prepare for the journey to Dublin.  Eastwood said, “I have been out of the Wales squad for about just over a year but I spoke to Gary Speed on the phone and he called me up and I was only too delighted to go back.” “I have been called in that time but each time I had an injury and couldn’t make it and obviously other players went in and took their chance, and good luck to them." " I never played with Gary who retired from international football just before I got my first cap, but I met him through the Wales set up and have been out with him a few times so I am looking forward to it. I have a good ratio and hopefully I can keep that going.”
