Tough training paying dividends Coventry City's enigmatic striker Freddy Eastwood has claimed he is in the best shape ever after the gruelling training sessions at the Austrian training camp at Obertraun. Eastwood revealed that each day the players had three training sessions a day starting at 8am, 11am and 4pm  for the past week. City boss Aidy Boothroyd is determined that his squad will be fit for the start of the season and has been pushing his players in temperatures of up to 30°. Eastwood admitted the conditions were challenging and the training was punishing, but he said he was reaping the benefits of the effort. He said, "I'm feeling really fit and sharp and this trip has helped no end because the manager has pushed us and it's been great."  "Watching the gaffer's training methods and his enthusiasm in training I have got a huge amount of respect for him and I'm really looking forward to working with him and playing under him this season." "It's important we get a good pre-season under our belt and that we prepare properly and we have certainly been doing that so we need to take all the good work we have done here back to Ryton and keep going at it so we are ready for Portsmouth."
