Dutch striker on trial with City
Smeekes joins up with squad in Austria DUTCH forward Orlando Smeekes has joined Coventry City on a week long trial in Austria. The 28-year old Smeekes scored 17 goals in 35 appearances for FC Carl Zeiss Jena, who play in the German Liga 3. Prior to joining Carl Zeiss Jena he played for the Stuttgart Kickers in their relegation season of 2009 and scored 4 goals in 12 games Aidy Boothroyd will assess the player after watching the player train with the squad while they are in Austria. He will then make a decision at the end of the week.
