Simmonds joins Nuneaton Former Coventry City reserve team player Donovan Simmonds has signed for Nuneaton Town.Simmonds is no stranger to Liberty Way, having played there for City Reserves when he finished as joint top scorer for City's second team in the Pointins League before the team was withdrawn by Ray Ranson as a cost cutting exercise.Simmonds, who was signed by Iain Dowie, has played in Scotland and Malta and made his Nuneaton debut in the 3-0 victory over Harrogate Town on Saturday.Speaking about Simmonds to the CT's Derek Brown, Nuneaton manager Kevin Wilkin said:" He gave us something different. He took on defenders, got crosses in and was a real pain in the backside to our opponents."Considering he has only played sixty minutes of football for Rushden this season, he looked very fit and on his game. He certainly gave all of us a lift. The fans loved him and so did the rest of us."
