Defender will be asked to accept wage reduction Out of favour Coventry City defender Elliot Ward, who is out of contract in the summer so will be able to leave the club on a free transfer,is still wanted by Doncaster Rovers. Ward spent a month on loan at Doncaster earlier this season and  Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll tried to sign him  on a permanent deal, but the players wage demands were too high for the club to accept, so the deal collapsed and O' Driscoll turned his attention elsewhere. O'Driscoll then tried to sign Jason Shackell from Wolves but the player opted to go to Barnsley instead. O'Driscoll told the Doncaster free Press, "Jason was top of our wanted list, but that one's gone now and defence is an area we need to address. We're in the market for a centre half and we're talking to a lot of people about players that might be available." Ward is one of those available players, but if he wants to return to Doncaster he will have to accept a reduction in his wages.
