City defender's view on defeat to Southampton

Coventry City defender Richard Keogh has said that the City players were disappointed with the goals they conceded on Saturday to Southampton in a 4-2 loss.

Speaking to Sky Blue Player, Keogh said:"It's obviously a very disappointed dressing room. We conceded a couple of sloppy goals in a scrappy first half but we changed our tact after half time and when we got the equaliser I thought there was only one team that was going to go on and win it.

"The manager told us at half time to get more amongst Southampton because we maybe showed them a bit too much respect in the first half but once we did get closer to them I thought we looked the better side.

"They are a good team and they have a good understanding between them, perhaps from their success in League One last season, but we went into the game poistively and despite this result we know we can mix it with the best in the league.

"We were just disappointed with the goals we conceded and how we conceded them but if we can keep up the kind of attitude and performance that got us back level in the game then we will win more than we lose."
