Di Matteo keen on City job
Ex West Brom manager to apply for City hot seat Former Chelsea player and West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo is keen on becoming the eleventh Coventry City manager in ten years according to a report in Mirror Football. Di Matteo is ready and available to start work immediately as he was sacked as The Baggies manager a little over a month ago. The 40 year old Swiss born Italian national lives in Leamington Spa, so is already local. After hanging up his playing boots Di Matteo became manager of Milton Keynes Dons in 2008 before being lured to West Bromwich Albion in 2009. While at MK Dons he led them to the League 1 play offs after finishing third in the division, but lost in the semi finals to Scunthorpe on penalties. In his first season as the Baggies boss, he led them to automatic promotion to the Premier League, finishing in second place behind Newcastle United. The Mirror also claims that Di Matteo will be one of the first candidate to be interviewed for the vacant manager's post.
