Welcome news at last Gary Deegan, known as Pitbull to his friends and team mates, has returned to training for the first time since sustaining a serious ankle injury in pre season training last summer. The combative Irish midfielder made a promising start to his Coventry City career last season, but because of the injury, he has missed all of this season. Coventry caretaker manager is hopeful that Deegan may be fit enough to play some part in the last few games of the season as his side battle against relegation. Thorn confirmed that Deegan is back training saying,“He’s been back in training for five weeks now and it is a case of full steam ahead. So I’d have thought he could feature at some point." The return to action of Deegan would be a welcome boost for the injury ravished team who have struggled at times this season with creativity and ball winning ability in the midfield and Deegan is capable of fulfilling that role.
