Decision On Foreign Television Receivers Put Back
TV Court Case latest The European Court Of Justice in Luxembourg has put back their ruling on a decision which may prevent pubs and clubs in the Coventry & Warwickshire area as well those around Britain from using foreign satellite receivers to show English league matches.The Premier League have taken Portsmouth publican Karen Murphy to court over her showing of Premier League matches using a foreign satellite receiver. Suppliers of those foreign satellite receivers are also involved in the case.According to the Publican, Julianne Kokott, an advocate general at the European Court of Justice, was due to give her opinion on the long-running appeal involving licensee Karen Murphy on January 13th regarding whether the EU law on the free movement of goods should be applied to decoder cards, used by pubs to access Premier League football.But Kokott will not deliver her opinion now until February 3. The opinion will be handed down in the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Justice, in Luxembourg.When that judgement is received, it will be sent back to the UK High Court who will sit to discuss the verdict.
