Coventry City loanee David McGoldrick has stressed that the Sky Bluesneeded to be prepared for a tough Christmas and New Year period.

The Sky Blues face Preston North End at home on Saturday before makingtheir first ever appearance for a league game at Stevenage and MK Donsand then a home game against Shrewsbury Town on January 1st.

Speaking to City club journalist Kieran Crowley for City's official clubwebsite, McGoldrick said: "We have got games coming up thick and fast, and we need to be ready for that. It is always a crucial time in theseason and if a side has a good Christmas, it can define a season.

"We have to make sure we keep ourselves fit and fresh. We have to beable to go into every game with that hunger for all three points and wehave got a few journeys over Christmas as well so it will be difficult.

"We have got a good squad so there might need to be a few players tocome in and out of the side. The gaffer is doing the right things at themoment to get us the points and we all believe in him.

"We have to take it one game at a time and make sure we are in the rightframe of mind to get maximum points."
