MP's Get Involved

The three Coventry MP's have got involved in order to try and prevent Coventry City being taken out of the city of Coventry by the club's owners SISU.

According to Les Reid of the Coventry Telegraph this morning, Coventry South Labour MP Jim Cunningham has tabled a House of Commons motion calling on Sports Minister Hugh Robertson to act and bring all parties to the table and tabled a written Commons question calling on culture secretary Maria Miller to estimate how much would be lost to the local economy by Coventry City moving out of the city.

Coventry North West MP Geoffrey Robinson, a former Chairman has called for SISU and ACL to accept mediation and binding arbitration in their long-running dispute over stadium rent, ownership and matchday revenues.

Coventry North East Labour MP Bob Ainsworth has written to the Football League calling on it to respect the fans’ and city’s strength of feeling, and block the Northampton ground-share.
