Carsley pondering tactical changes

Lee Carsley will change Coventry's approach for the visit of promotion rivals Swindon as he looks to turn around City's mediocre home form, although his team selection may well remain the same.

The Sky Blues have won just five league matches at the Ricoh Arena this term compared to 10 away from home as they prepare to welcome an out-of-sorts Swindon side who are currently just six points above them in the table.

But caretaker boss Carsley is keeping his cards close to his chest regarding how he plans to change his side's fortunes on home soil.

He said: "We've been racking our brains all week on things we can do differently and obviously the proof will be in the pudding that we've come up with a successful way of doing things. We'll be changing it around on Saturday."

It may not necessarily be an issue of personnel as Carsley could opt to name the same side who claimed a 2-0 victory away at high-flying Bournemouth in midweek.

Defenders Richard Wood (groin) and Blair Adams (knee) remain sidelined for a couple more weeks while striker Stephen Elliott is set to miss the rest of the season with his knee injury.

Swindon will be boosted by the return of two first-team regulars as Kevin MacDonald takes the helm for the first time.

The Robins named MacDonald as Paolo Di Canio's successor on Thursday night with Tommy Miller and Darren Ward having taken charge of the club's last two games.

And the new boss will be able to call on Simon Ferry and Joe Devera at the Ricoh Arena.

Former Celtic midfielder Ferry missed the shock 1-0 defeat to Bury on Tuesday with an ankle injury, while left-back Devera did not feature during February having picked up a hamstring injury.

Miles Storey and Troy Archibald-Henville remain sidelined but there are no fresh injury worries after the midweek loss.
