Baker back for Sky Blues

Coventry welcome back Carl Baker from suspension for the visit of Preston as they look to continue their unbeaten run.

Mark Robins' side have not lost any of their last seven games in all competitions and have scored nine goals in their last two victories.

The only change for their 4-1 win at Doncaster was to replace Baker with Adam Barton in the midfield and Robins will have to choose between the two of them to complete his line-up.

Conor Thomas was an 89th-minute substitute at the Keepmoat on his return from injury. He could be joined on the bench against Preston by striker Callum Wilson and midfielder Conor Henderson, who have both been passed fit.

But on-loan striker Callum Ball remains sidelined with a foot injury.

Graham Westley has a selection decision to make at left-back.

Shane Cansdell-Sherriff was sent off for two bookable offences during Tuesday night's dramatic Johnstone's Paint Trophy triumph at Bury and must serve a two-match ban having also received his marching orders against Oldham in October.

A centre-back by trade, Cansdell-Sherriff was named at full-back in the absence of long-term victim Scott Laird (broken leg) and midfielder Joel Byrom filled the void as North End closed out a 3-3 draw and a penalty shoot-out victory.

David Buchanan is favourite to step into the left-back slot, although Westley could bring Chris Robertson back from suspension to partner new signing Luke Foster at centre-back and move Bailey Wright to full-back.

Elsewhere, attacking midfielder Jeffrey Monakana is available for selection after it was confirmed his 44th-minute withdrawal at Gigg Lane was a tactical decision.
