Adams in Sky Blues' thinking

Blair Adams could make the bench for Coventry's final home game of the season against play-off outsiders Leyton Orient.

The left-back has not featured for the Sky Blues since early February having been struck down with a knee injury but returned to play 45 minutes in a friendly match at the club's Ryton training ground this week.

Adams' first start under Sky Blues boss Steven Pressley, appointed in March, will have to wait a little longer but he may well make the match-day 18.

"I think this weekend is maybe a little bit too early for him," Pressley told the club's official website. "He may get a place on the bench and that is definitely in consideration. But the main thing is next season so we have to keep one eye on that."

Winger Gary McSheffrey could be recalled from the cold for a place in Pressley's plans having not even featured in his last two match-day squads.

The likes of Steven Jennings, Cody McDonald, Callum Ball, Danny Philliskirk, Cyrus Christie, William Edjenguele, James Bailey and Billy Daniels will also be hoping for a run-out.

Charlie MacDonald will be fit for Orient.

The striker has been carrying a hamstring niggle and was withdrawn as a precaution with 20 minutes left of Saturday's 2-0 win over his old club MK Dons.

But with David Mooney still out with an ankle injury and fellow forward Shaun Batt recently returning to Millwall, MacDonald is set to partner Kevin Lisbie in attack again.

The O's will once again have a patched-up defence with Scott Cuthbert (metatarsal) out for the season and Mathieu Baudry (hip) and Elliot Omozusi (shoulder) also sidelined.

Baudry and Omozusi are not expected to figure in the final two matches of the regular campaign but could return should they sneak into the play-offs.
