England 'keeper likely to leave Pompey According to some press speculation Coventry City are preparing a bid for England goal keeper David James, Portsmouth had offered James a deal to keep him at Fratton Park as part of their coaching staff, but James has not agreed to the offer and is now thought he will leave the cash strapped, crisis ridden club. Portsmouth are desperate to reduce their wage bill and with Jame leaving that will go some way to help. The football web site Soccervoice is claiming that either Fulham or Coventry City will be James' destination. David James has played for Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham and Aston Villa before joining Portsmouth.
