Coventry City manager Mark Robins has said that he remembers the 1987 FA Cup Final very well between Tottenham Hotspur and Coventry City after the sides were drawn togther in this season's FA Cup Third Round.

That cup final at Wembley Stadium which the Sky Blues won 3-2 after extra time and provided the greatest day in the club's history, is City's only victory over Spurs in the FA Cup. The sides have met in 1981 which Tottenham won 3-1 at White Hart Lane and twenty years later at Highfield Road in a game Spurs won 2-0.

Speaking about the 1987 FA Cup Final to Sky Blue Player's Nick Connoll, Robins, who is hoping the scoreline won't be a repeat of when City played in North London in a cup tie earlier this season, said: "The 1987 Cup final was a real classic and I remember it very well indeed. I am sure this will bring back some memories for our supporters."

The game is due to be played on the weekend of Saturday January 5th and is subject to the demands of television and the police. This game also means that City's League One game against Tranmere Rovers at the Ricoh Arena has been postponed.
