Hunt for strikers continues Coventry City chairman Ken Dulieu has admitted the club are looking at the possibility of bringing in strikers on loan from Premier League clubs to fill the void left by the departure of Marlon King. Coventry have contacted at least twp Premier League clubs to enquire about the availability and possible loan of young strikers who need competitive football to hone their skills before being thrust into the first team of their parent club. Wage demands are the biggest stumbling block and the club refuses to break its wage policy simply because it doesn't have the money to pay excessive wages. The club lost out on signing Kevin Phillips because his wage demands were too high. Andy Thorn admitted, “We have had a couple that we have fancied and tried for and done our best with but they have just become unrealistic at times, but there are a couple more that we have got our eye on but we have to wait until they are back in pre-season and for their managers to have a look at them." "We have let them know of our interest and they have been good, so we are just sitting tight. We are still looking and are always looking and have registered our interest in a couple of players but, as yet, we have to be patient.” Coventry City chairman Ken Dulieu, who lives in Portugal and whose home overlooks the training facility where the club are having a week-long pre season training camp at Vale De Lobe Complex in the Algarve region, has met with Andy Thorn to discuss potential signings and is working hard to negotiate deals to strengthen the squad.
