Coventry City loanee David McGoldrick will see out his loan spell at the Sky Blues

McGoldrick's parent club Nottingham Forest may have a problem up front if Simon Cox's ankle injury proves to be serious, but they will not be able to recall the forward, who set a Sky Blues record by scoring in six consecutive away games last week, from his current loan spell.

McGoldrick's loan is due to expire on Thursday January 3rd and although the Sky Blues would dearly love to have the services of a player who has scored twelve times in eighteen matches, their well documented financial incapabilities may prevent them from being able to compete with the likes of Dutch side Twente Enschede as well as Championship sides such as Leeds United, Burnley, Barnsley and Millwall in securing McGoldrick on a long term deal.
