Forward Callum Ball is expected to be missing from the Coventry City squad for a while after the loanee from Derby County chipped a bone in his right ankle.

Ball, who has scored three goals for City this season, picked up the injury on Friday and is expected to be out for the Christmas period."His foot is in a boot because a bit of bone has chipped away from his ankle," said Mark Robins to the Coventry Telegraph's Andy Turner.

"The first word I heard was a fracture but all I know is he's going tosee a specialist and going be out for a period of time but that is undefined at the moment.

"He limped out of training on Friday with pain, had a scan which showed a bit a bone has come away so it has either just occurred or been a longer standing problem."

There was some good news in that Conor Thomas, Callum Wilson and loanee from Arsenal Conor Henderson are all back training again.

Speaking about the trio, Mark Robins said: "Conor Thomas is joining in, Callum Wilson has been back a week and Conor Henderson - whose loan with Arsenal is up in two weeks - is back running but they're behind because we were looking at them being back for the first week in December.

"But we've got a couple of games arranged for them to give them a run out."
