Coventry captain Carl Baker feels his suspension could be a blessing

Coventry City captain Carl Baker feels that missing Saturday's game at Doncaster Rovers may prove to be a blessing.

Baker picked up his fifth caution of the season in the 5-1 demolition of Walsall on Saturday and will miss the Sky Blues game at The Keepmoat Stadium.

However, Baker feels this may be a blessing in disguise and told the Coventry Observer's Steve Carpenter: "You never want to miss games but it might be a blessing in disguise for me.

"I've played a lot of games lately, a lot of full 90 minutes. I was rested for Bournemouth away and I came back really strong after that.

"I've been on four booking for ages so I've been scared to go in for challenges or to do anything in case I get that fifth booking because I desperately didn't want to miss a game.

"But it's happened now and I've just got to deal with it and make sure when I come back that I'm fit and ready to go."
