Nouble completes City fightback

Coventry produced a spirited second-half fightback to beat Peterborough 3-2 at the Ricoh Arena.

Despite a promising start by City, Peterborough went in at the break two goals to the good.

Marcus Maddison put the ball on a plate for Jon Taylor 17 minutes into the game and the latter passed the ball into the net to put Posh ahead.

Taylor was fouled in the 27th minute and Maddison hit a dipping free-kick from 25 yards that moved in the air to leave goalkeeper Lee Burge red-faced.

The home team looked down and out when they headed in at half-time, but came out a different side in the second half and, crucially, pulled a goal back in the 49th minute as Ryan Haynes curled the ball in after a good move.

Haynes then turned provider in the 62nd minute as his cross was helped on by John Fleck for midfielder Jim O'Brien to fire in at the back post.

The home supporters could barely believe it and it got even better for them in the 64th minute as striker Frank Nouble went on a mazy run before his shot was deflected past Peterborough goalkeeper Ben Alnwick to clinch Coventry their first league win in eight matches.
