Coventry crash out

Sean Geddes proved the FA Cup hero as he fired Conference North side Worcester City to a 2-1 victory over Coventry.

The former Manchester United trainee struck in each half to send the 1987 winners tumbling out of the competition at the Ricoh Arena.

Worcester thoroughly deserved their triumph, but Coventry's hopes were dealt a massive blow six minutes before the break when young keeper Lee Burge kicked out at Daniel Nti and was red-carded.

Geddes had a long wait for his spot-kick as the home side brought keeper Ryan Allsop off the bench, but he kept his nerve and fired home.

That looked to have been undone in first-half injury time when Coventry teenager James Maddison was bought down in the box. Towering centre half Reda Johnson stepped up, but keeper Nathan Vaughan guessed right and saved well.

Geddes' second came in the 55th minute when his sent a low shot in past Allsop the edge of the area.

Johnson gave the non-league side a nervous finale when he headed in with 10 minutes remaining but they held on.
