Coleman targets loan additions

Coventry manager Chris Coleman is hoping to sign two new strikers when the loan window reopens next week. Leon Best`s deadline-day departure to Newcastle, for a fee reported to be in the region of £2million, has left the Sky Blues with just two recognised strikers in Clinton Morrison and Freddy Eastwood. And that is something Coleman is looking to rectify when the emergency loan window becomes active from Tuesday. "It (Best`s move) happened on the last day so it was always going to be difficult but that`s not to say we`re not going to be able to do something next week with the loan window," said Coleman. "Which is what we`re looking at and possibly two players coming in next week. With a bit of luck next week maybe we`ll have two new faces, maybe one I don`t know. But we`re working hard to achieve that. "They`ll be established, experienced players. Players that we`ve liked for a long time. As we know with football, there`s no guarantees it will happen but we`re working hard to ensure it does." Coleman also confirmed Coventry immediately rejected "one or two" offers for other players made at 4.30pm on Monday which he described as "bizarre" with the January window set to close at 5pm.
