Coleman speaks about Cardiff

Swansea and Cardiff rivalry Coventry City manager Chris Coleman has been speaking about the rivalry between Swansea (Coleman's home town) and Cardiff City and the chance his Coventry City side have of usurping the play off spot currently occupied by Cardiff. Coleman said, “I am a Swansea boy and there is always a bit of rivalry, but there is no added significance or burning desire to win just because it’s Cardiff City. I have been to Cardiff many times and the people there are fantastic." “I always have a good crack with them and that rivalry is always going to be there, but we can only get three points if we win and nothing if we lose. Cardiff City are a good Championship team and they are an obstacle we have got to get over." “Most of my friends support Swansea and I think they want a Swansea v Cardiff play-off final, but even when I play Swansea, who I have supported all my life, I still want to beat them." “Cardiff City have slipped of late and we must try to capitalise on that. But I can’t worry about that. You can’t look at another manager and sympathise too much. Dave Jones has great experience and a really good record so he knows what it is all about." “From our viewpoint, we have become used to winning and maybe the 1-1 draw against Plymouth Argyle at the weekend left people disappointed.”
