Coleman Praises Squad, Hall and Supporters
City boss makes key note speech Coventry City manager Chris Coleman praised his players, Marcus Hall and the City supporters tonight at the club's end of season awards dinner.Speaking to Stuart Linnell in front of a packed audience in the Eon Lounge, the City boss said that it had been a season of ups and downs. It started well and then went ten games without a win but we battled back. He added that we capitulated after the Cardiff defeat and it had been a disappointment and that City promised a lot but never delivered. On City's league finishing place of 19th, Mr Coleman said: "19th is disappointing. "The squad is the best I have had. "You have to look at yourself first and we could have won more games. With regard to yesterday's game, we are better than that. "i should have changed tactics and we shouldn't be in the position we are. I maybe pushed too hard at the wrong time. We will have to go away and come back stronger."The away support has been tremendous. City fans are the same as most around the country in what they want expect. Those who come to games are our only fans so we can't complain."I have enjoyed working with the players. I have pushed them too hard at times but they have been a different class to work with.Speaking about Marcus Hall, he commented that Marcus was one of the niceest fellas he had the pleasure of working with and said that he did not think it was the proper time to play him against Watford. He said that he and the coaching staff were full of respect for Marcus and wished him all the best.On the future, he said: "The Chairmas has been behind me 100%. We have gone backwards but our targets have not changed and we have to be realistc about next season. Thank you to the supporters home and away.
