Coleman bemoans cup hangover

City have gone from play-off chasing form to error-riddled performances in the space of a fortnight. Coleman's side won four of their six matches in all competitions last month, including victories against Championship leaders Wolves, fellow promotion contenders Birmingham and Blackburn in the cup. But the Sky Blues have lost all three of their league games either side of Chelsea's visit to the Ricoh Arena on March 7 and are in danger of being dragged into another relegation battle. "Four games ago we were flying, playing some great football and beating big teams, but now we are at that stage that I had a feeling might happen if we were knocked out of the cup," said Coleman. "It is almost like the players are thinking, 'What else have we got to do now we have been knocked out of the cup?' "I think we may have had one eye on the Chelsea game when we lost at home to Sheffield United and now we have lost to Bristol City and Preston as well. We need to get that edge back because we don't want to get sucked into the teams below us."
