Coleman: 40-point mark a boost

The Sky Blues had been stuck on 37 points since mid-January after back-to-back league defeats to Cardiff and Derby but they reached the landmark courtesy of Saturday's dramatic 2-1 home victory over Championship leaders Wolves.

"We have hit 40 points and that is a good feeling psychologically, especially with it coming with a win against the team who are top of the league," said Coleman.

"We are in no-man's land given that we are 10 points above the bottom three and quite a way off the play-offs, but it is imperative we keep getting results and have a good finish to the season.

"Hopefully it will give us a platform to build on. We have got 15 really important games left - important in terms of our progression - to make sure we finish well and as close as we can to the teams above us."
