Cody Admits To New Confidence

Cody McDonald has said that Gillingham boss Martin Allen wants him to keep going at Coventry City.

McDonald scored four goals in seven matches for The Gills before being recalled by the Sky Blues, who had a recall after 28 days agreement.

"The club and Martin Allen were brilliant to me to be fair. They backed me the whole way and I spoke with him yesterday and he wants me to keep going here at Coventry," said McDonald, who was a late substitute in City's win at Bourmouth last night, to the club website.

"I haven't scored as many goals as I would like for Coventry this season but the loan spell got me games and confidence which I needed.   "I just need to get a run of games together, and I will see what happens. I am happy to be working for Lee Carsley at the minute but whatever happens with the manager's situation, I know I have to work to get an opportunity."
