Coventry City forward Cody McDonald has said that he feels he is getting sharper.
Speaking at the club's weekly press conference to the Press Association, McDonald said: "The goal has given me a bit of extra confidence.
"Obviously when you don't score it can be a little bit daunting but it was a bit of weight off my shoulders and hopefully I can capitalise on that now and score a couple more"I feel a lot fresher and a lot sharper (now). I thought my fitness was actually alright when I first came, it was just more my sharpness but I've been working hard in training and I'm starting to feel a lot sharper, hopefully we'll start to see that."
McDonald was asked if he felt under pressure to score goals following his transfer deadline day move from Norwich City for a fee in the region of £500k.
He said: "Not really, you're going to feel it a little bit because you're getting asked the question quite a lot and it does put a little bit more pressure on you that way. "The longer you go on you do start to think 'When am I going to get that first goal?', especially as I had a couple of good chances. But thankfully I got it on Saturday and it's important that I push on from that now."
