Derby want to bounce back after Cardiff defeat. Derby County manager Nigel Clough has said he wants his side to repeat the performance that saw The Rams beat Leeds United in another televised game, on the first day of the season. Derby played a 4-2-3-1 formation at Elland Road and it gave Leeds all sorts of problems. Clough is eager for his side to do the same again at The Ricoh Arena and pose the same problems for Coventry City. Clough said, "There is no reason why we can't do it again." As for the defeat to Cardiff, Clough though it was a game that they should have drawn at least, saying, "We played well in patches against Cardiff and some of the stuff surprised us when we watched the game back again. It was better than we thought at the time. We made a lot of passes and had the majority of the possession. We want to try to do the same again." "I think, for the first time, you can see a pattern emerging of how we want to play," said Clough. "We are going to have to change it at times, we should have done at Crewe and gone a bit more direct, but this is how we are going to play and when we do it, and do it well, we cause teams problems."
