Clingan reviews Scunthorpe draw

It was a hard game say Clingan Coventry City's Northern Ireland midfielder Sammy Clingan said that Saturday's 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe was a hard fought game played in very warm weather. He said, “It was a hard game to be involved in, particularly with the warm weather, and we knew it was going to be a tough game against a side fighting for their lives down at the bottom of the table." “We knew we had to turn up and start the game well, which I thought we did but after we scored the goal we sort of stepped back and stopped doing what we had been doing to get us the goal, and the manager let us know that at half time." “The second half wasn’t too bad but it was a hard game and one we could have ended up losing, but we managed to take a point from it anyway. It was a different type of performance. Normally we are moving the ball about quickly and creating chances that way but it just didn’t happen for us." “Their goal took a bit of a deflection and that wrong-footed Keiren and was a scrappy goal from our point of view but I think the goal was coming, to be fair, because they pressed us and pushed us back in our own half for long periods of the game, so we are happy with the point.”
